Born in Paterson, De Blieck has lived in North Haldon for the past 47 years. He served his country honorably in the United States National Guard. A pharmacist, he founded De Blieck's Pharmacy in North Haledon 51 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Florence (Olsen) De Blieck; children Mary Heitmann and her husband Robert of California, and August De Blieck Jr. and his wife Michele of Wayne; grandchildren Katherine, Anna and Alexandra; and sister Marguerite Wodarski.
De Blieck was preceded by his siblings Gerard, Valerie, Mary Grace and Alfred.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Rd., in Franklin Lakes. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 1219 Ratzer Rd., in Wayne. Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, in Franklin Lakes.
